Looks like some crazy Japanese brewmaster has concocted a recipe for beer based on some heiroglyphics found in an Egyptian wall painting. The BBC reports that Kirin Brewing Company has brewed a test batch of ~36 litres of a brown, tea coloured brew based on translations by Waseda University Egyptoligst Sakuji Yoshimura.

In the latest round of sweeping changes by the new Liberal government, the province of British Columbia is set to privitize it's liquor stores. Government officials report that the goal is to take a slow approach, unlike the way it was done a few years ago in Alberta. Though privitization can often be a good thing, in Alberta it meant that a lot of private retailers only wanted to carry the top selling brands of beer, which marginalized the micro brewing industry.
