Wheat Beer

There are at least 3 very different traditional styles of wheat beer, so by rights we really shouldn't be grouping them all together like this.  But it's our webpage, so we can do whatever we want, right?  If you happen to be a BJCP judge, please close your eyes while reading this page.  I'll be back soon with a description of the various types of wheat beer.  In the meantime there is a nice little writeup on my Bona-Fide Styles page.

Method OG Recipe Comment
extract 1.056 Alan's Honey Wheat Very popular with many non-beer-geek friends
extract 1.054 Alan's Honey Wheat Slight variation on the above
extract 1.038 Alan's Honey Wheat Another variant of a good thing
kit ? John Barlyecorn's Wheat Don't even bother looking, because it is horrible
full mash 1.045 Dark pseudo-Weizen It's not the real thing because I didn't use a Weizen yeast, but still very yummy
extract 1.044 Ireks Hefeweizen The real thing if you change the yeast to a real Weizen yeast
extract 1.043 Ireks Hefeweizen slight variation of above, and uses a real Weizen yeast
extract 1.041 Lovebite Wheat variant of Charlie Papazians recipe
full mash 1.042 Dunkles Hefeweizen Without question the best wheat beer I've ever brewed!
