Site InfoIt's official - we're moving! But trust me, I think that most of you will find it to be a very good thing! It will probably take a year or two, but everything is going to be migrated to a new site that I'm co-developing with my wife - Urban Hippy. All new material is already going over there - for the last few weeks.

The new site is sort of a logical extension to this site - it includes all of my beer and brewing activities, along with lots of other related activities which have been creeping their way into this site over the years like home preserving, coffee roasting, making sauerkraut, and so on. And it includes a lot of the related stuff that my wife does, too.

You probably noticed that the site has been kind of stagnant the last year or two, and a large part of that is because I've been painted into a corner with the software I am using. The team who develop it made some significant changes in the "comment engine" about 2 years ago, which prevent me from upgrading to newer versions without re-writing some of my plugin code. Heck, the software I'm using now is so ancient I cannot even log into my own site anymore with my browser of choice - I have to resort to IE. So I figured if I'm going to do re-writes, I might as well bite the bullet and move to a completely new software package - one that I've been eying for a long time. One that offers far more features, and is more professional.

The good news for my brewing content is that I won't simply just copy it over to the new site. Every single page bar none will get a re-write as it is going over! And a lot of it is very much in need of a rewrite.

In the meantime, this site will stay pretty-much as it is right now, for the forseeable future. At very least until I get my brewing content all rewritten. Hint : that won't happen overnight. The only big change I may make, is to disable posting in the forums here, to encourage people to move to the forums on the new site. Though of course I will keep the forum content, because there is a lot of useful information there to search on.

So if you want to stay in touch with what I'm up to, please stay tuned to the new site because I won't be posting any new material here. The good thing is that the new site has a handy-dandy RSS feed that you can plug into your RSS Reader. Just check the main page for the link. That way you always stay up-to-date. And as you will see when you go check out the new site, there is lots going on over there - with new posts almost daily for weeks now.

I'm really hoping that my faithful readers here will understand what I'm trying to do, and most importantly understand that it really should amount to a better site for YOU the reader.

Please check out the new site and let us know what you think.
